Herbed Goat Cheese & Walnut Crostini

My Herbed Goat Cheese & Walnut Crostini is a creamy, crunchy appetizer idea that is a tasty start to any meal.  Crisp slices of toasted baguette topped with a mixture of herbed goat cheese and buttery, chopped walnuts, finished off with peppery watercress.   Simple ingredients, crave-worthy taste.

Goat Cheese & Walnut Crostini

Ingredients:

  • 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 oz. herbed goat cheese, room temperature
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Watercress, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Drizzle a touch of olive oil over each slice of bread. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 7 minutes or until crisp and golden brown. Place the room temperature goat cheese and the walnuts in a small mixing bowl. Combine with a spatula until the walnuts are fully incorporated. Spread the goat cheese mixture over the crostini and top with watercress. Finish the crostini off with a grinding of black pepper before serving.
