Three cheers for the newest cookbook from the editors of Martha Stewart Living! All about the glory of vegetables, this cookbooks (aptly named Vegetables) is visually stunning, and covers a broad range of vegetable categories. From bulbs to flowers to kernels to leaves each chapter starts with the basics on the vegetables’ category and goes into the proper way to prep the veggies, handle them and lastly, cook them. One of the first recipes I decided to try was for this tasty vegetarian pizza. I used a whole wheat pizza crust as the base and topped it with creamy ricotta cheese, sliced asparagus, red onion, shredded mozzarealla cheese, and peppery watercress. I had some green olive on hand so I added those on top as well, along with the last minutes sprinkling of crushed red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
