From the kitchens of the infamous Pollan family comes an inspiring cookbook filled with healthy recipes and fun tips for the kitchen. Yes, the first Pollan family member that comes to mind is usually Michael Pollan of An Omnivore’s Dilemma fame, but he was only in charge of the foreword in this tasty read. His Mother and three sisters put together a compendium of recipes that their families have been devouring for decades.
My first recipe to try from this great cook book was their recipe for a ‘Citrus-Roasted Chicken with Gran Marnier’. Not only is the chicken marinated in lots of fresh citrus juice and aromatics, but the addition of orange liqueur into the marinade (which eventually becomes a luscious, rich orange sauce to serve along with the roast chicken) really intensifies the citrus flavors of the dish. A superb roast chicken that will make you and your belly smile from ear-to-ear.
