Salami & Brie Sandwiches with Arugula

Ce sandwich est très délicieux.  This delectable French sandwich is dreamy and full of flavor.  Slices of peppered salami on top of Dijon mustard-coated whole grain bread, combined with creamy melted Brie cheese and a topping of peppery baby arugula.  This tasty treat will make you want to grab a picnic basket and blanket, and perhaps a bottle wine while you’re at it…

Salami & Brie Sandwiches with Arugula

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of whole grain bread
  • Dijon mustard
  • Peppered hard salami, cut into ¼-inch rounds
  • Brie cheese, cut into slices
  • Baby arugula
  • Red wine vinegar

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Spread Dijon mustard on 1 slice of bread for each sandwich. Top that bread slice with the salami rounds.
  2. Place the sliced Brie on the un-coated bread slice for each sandwich. Heat all of the bread slices in the preheated oven for 5 minutes or until the Brie begins to melt and the bread is toasted. Garnish each sandwich with baby arugula and a drizzle of red wine vinegar before serving warm.

      Merci beaucoup! For an even more Frech-ified version, try it on a crusty baguette. Any hard salami will do, but I found a pepper-encrusted one that was superb…bon appetit!
