Always on the pre-order list for any cookbook from the editors of Martha Stewart Living, I was thrilled to see that their newest book was all about healthful, clean eating; perfect timing for a new year of cooking. Clean Slate: A Cookbook & Guide is filled with helpful tips on clean eating and tons of recipes that all look outstandingly tasty. The emphasis on power foods, nutrients, whole grains and fresh produce, their recipe for ‘Brown Rice with Salmon, Avocado and Toasted Nori’ was first on my list for its creativity and gorgeous appearance. A rice bowl filled with hearty brown rice, tender salmon, chili peppers, creamy avocado and crispy, toasted seaweed—all flavored with a bright and flavorful sauce of soy sauce, lemon juice and spicy chili sauce. A perfect recipe for the start of a new year!
