We recently ate some of the best ice cream we have ever tasted at, no joke, our favorite sushi restaurant here in Atlanta. It was the night before my husband’s birthday and our favorite sushi chef at Nakato on Cheshire Bridge Road, quietly disappeared into the kitchen for a mere second, only to emerge with a celebratory cold treat. This treat was two small scoops of the creamiest green tea ice cream. Just sweet enough, this cold dessert was just what our palettes needed. A deep green tea flavor hits your taste buds first, then the cold, creamy sensation of the cold cream. I have been waiting to recreate this dish ever since that night. In my research of green tea ice cream recipes, I was most drawn to Emeril Lagasse’s recipe. Six simple ingredients that make a rich, hard-to-forget ice cream with an extraordinary flavor!
