Decadent Eggnog French Toast
Ingredients:
- 4 slices (1-inch thick) challah or other egg bread
- ½ cup egg nog
- ½ cup whole milk
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon of butter, for cooking
Directions:
- In a casserole dish, whisk together the egg nog, milk, eggs, vanilla and cinnamon. Soak the bread slices in the mixture for 2 minutes on each side.
- In a non-stick skillet, melt half of the butter. Place 2 slices of the soaked bread in the pan and cook over medium heat for 4-5 minutes. Flip and cook an additional 2 minutes on the other side until both sides are lightly browned and the inside still creamy. Cook the other 2 slices in the same manner. Serve warm with maple syrup if desired.
