I’ve been reading a lot about Nocino lately—an Italian nut liqueur, similar to amaretto but instead of almond-based, this rich liqueur is walnut-based. On its own a wonderful after dinner drink when chilled, but also a perfect addition to that after dinner espresso. Researching cocktails containing this special liqueur, I came across this stunning drink: Tricolore. Muddled strawberries mixed with the liqueur and shaken with ice, poured into an elegant coupe glass and topped with a mixture of heavy cream whipped with mascarpone cheese. Rich yet refreshing, this lovely aperitif will bring a smile to anyone’s face. Cin Cin!
