I couldn’t mention this luscious cake that I made for my husband’s Birthday this year and not share the source of the recipe!  This cake turned out very well indeed. A moist, pecan buttermilk cake frosted with a creamy buttercream frosting flavored with melted semi-sweet chocolate, cocoa powder, vanilla extract and a touch of smooth bourbon–what’s not to love?  Lovely when enjoyed on its own, or with a steeping hot cup of dark coffee.
