I love the bright, herbal smell and flavor of dried lavender both in savory and sweet recipes.  This recipe pairs dried lavender with fresh lemon zest in a buttery, crisp shortbread cookie.  Perfect with a warm cup of green tea for a unique afternoon pick-me-up, these sweet gems are an elegant small bite that would be an intriguing base for a lemon curd tart as well.
