 Craving a sweet treat last week, my husband had a dessert request that sounded too tasty to pass up.  Pecan pie…and not just any pecan pie, a sweet, decadent version flavored with maple syrup, pure vanilla extract and bourbon.  The combination of flavors along with the buttery pecans both in the filling and on top of the pie is rich, gooey and full of flavor.  A perfect dessert for this cold winter weather—the only thing it’s missing is a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream.
