A traditional affogato is an Italian dessert made from a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream topped with a warm shot of rich espresso. One of my favorite go-to desserts, especially for a dinner party, I decided to make an ‘after dinner’ version with a shot of chilled espresso vodka instead of warm espresso, and a dusting of espresso powder on top. Come to think of it, another unique topping would be a handful of crushed chocolate-covered espresso beans or Dutch-processed cocoa powder.

After Dinner Affogato
Ingredients:
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Espresso vodka, chilled
- Espresso powder, for dusting
Directions:
- Place a scoop of ice cream in serving glass. Pour the chilled vodka over top and dust with espresso powder before serving with a spoon.
