A mixture of ground cumin and chili powder coat this tender, grilled skirt steak. As is, this would be a lovely seasoning mix for this cut of beef, but the addition of a fresh avocado salsa takes this dish to a whole new level. Cubes of creamy avocado paired with cherry tomatoes, red onion, lime juice and cilantro—my Grilled Skirt Steak with Avocado Salsa is a no-fuss entrée that everyone will love!

Grilled Skirt Steak with Avocado Salsa
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. skirt steak
- Ground cumin
- Chili powder
- Salt & Pepper
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 large Haas avocado, diced
- 1 small red onion, sliced
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 2 limes
Directions:
- Season the skirt steak with ½ teaspoon cumin, ½ teaspoon chili powder, ¼ teaspoon salt and a grinding of black pepper. Allow it to sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine the avocado, onion, cilantro, lime juice and 2 Tablespoons of olive oil in a small bowl. Season with ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper.
- Spray a grill pan with cooking spray; heat the grill pan over high heat. Cook the seasoned beef for 3 minutes per side, turning once. Allow the meat to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and topping with the salsa.
