Last night Scott made me a welcome home dinner that frankly, it the stuff that foodie dreams are made of. Being a food-oriented person (boy does that put it lightly), that first meal back at home after being away has been a subject of conversation for quite a while now. Not a subject of debate mind you, this decision was clean and simple. If I had to envision my last meal, this would be it.
It starts with cocktail hour and conversation over an extra dry martini. (I need not have to say a gin martini here because I think we all know each other by now…wink wink) Then comes the food. A perfectly cooked, medium-rare T-bone steak served with a fresh salad of spinach, carrots, radishes, sliced mushrooms and celery. And of course, a glass of tasty Pinot Noir. Drooling yet? I know I am, that’s why I am thrilled to say that I squirreled away part of my steak to enjoy today for lunch. A welcome home dinner so good, dinners for the rest of the week have a lot to live up to. I’m sure we’ll think of something though.
