This lovely recipe for a delectable bread and butter pudding could easily be made with any mixture of berries you have on hand, and makes not only a scrumptious dessert, but would also be a nice brunch idea as well. Similar to either a baked French toast or bread pudding, a bread and butter pudding is a baked custard dessert topped with, you guessed it…buttered bread. The sliced bread soaks in the vanilla-scented egg custard for one hour before baking and after it bakes, the top of the buttered bread is a bit crispy and the bottom is coated and surrounded by the creamy custard. Delicious. Need I say more?
