Searching for a unique way to savor the flavor of your favorite summertime fruits for months to come? Try infusing your favorite bottle of liquor with their naturally sweet flavor; these infused jars of liquor make wonderful gifts and a wonderful treat to simply enjoy during cocktail hour.
I had a lot of black cherries left over from a recipe last month and decided to infuse a bottle of quality vodka with the cherries. Here’s how to do it: simply remove the stem from the washed cherries and score an ‘x’ with a pairing knife on the bottom of each cherry. Pack them into pint jars and top with a quality vodka. Seal the jars and store in the fridge for about a month. It’s that easy, and delicious! My homemade black cherry-infused vodka is smooth and tasty on its own, but is also decadent as an add-in to a champagne drink, or even in a black cherry vodka tonic. And don’t throw out the cherries themselves! They make a decadent addition to your next sangria or Manhattan.
