Laissez les Bon Temps Roulez!

photo

Mardi Gras is a great holiday for a number of reasons:  the feeling of celebration, the colors, the costumes, the tradition, and of course, the food and drink. I love putting a Mardi Gras menu together each year, whether for a larger group dinner or a quiet dinner for two.  To celebrate this year, I have decided to make:

Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail

Chicken & Andouille Etouffee

Served over white rice

Buttermilk Cornbread

Sauteed Mustard Green with Tomatoes & Black-Eyed Peas

Traditional Galette des Rois

A cake originating from northern France made from puff pastry and a sweet almond custard filling

Whatever you decide to make, make it in good health and good cheer!
